      The correct slump range for this type of sinkhole repair compaction grouting is 4 to 6 inches. This project was designed and monitored by a geotechnical engineer. Who did slump tests while on site throughout the project. As of my last knowledge there isn't a specific "compaction grout census standard" that is widely recognized. However, standards related to grouting practices, materials, and testing are set by the engineer of record on the project. We appreciate your comments.

    • @HeliconUSA

      Why's that? It stabilizes structures for many years and is safe for the environment. Another name for it is poly-foam

    • @phillylove7290
      @phillylove7290 5 месяцев назад

      @HeliconUSA Yes. I'm sure the structural properties are sound. But with microplastics and forever chemicals being big news, putting large amounts of "chemical grout" over my water table for my well doesn't sound like a good idea. I would suggest using a name that plays off the benefits of the structural integrity, not that its made from chemicals. Like in powerwashing, we don't say bleach. We say our "solution" or "fungicide". What sounds better "organic softwash" or "chemical house wash". Both are the same thing.

    Can this be applied during high tide, if so... why are what looks to be remnants floating? How (when) does it solidify when it creeps out of the crevices and into the water?

    • @HeliconUSA
      @HeliconUSA 8 месяцев назад

      The remnants of the chemical grout will come out but we quickly scoop them out of the water and barricade it off from spreading further. On top of this, our chemical grout is environmentally safe so it will not harm the water or any wildlife.

      Jake the SWRP-1 permeation chemical grout will seal up small cracks and crevices that are allowing soil loss, but any large voids or openings would need to be covered prior to injecting the material behind the wall.

    • @JaySilverHeliconUSA
      @JaySilverHeliconUSA 8 месяцев назад

      SWRP-1 Permeation Chemical Grout is able to be injected during high tide or low tide. we inject the material directly behind the seawall starting at 1 foot below the mud line using upward staging, which is injecting the material at 1 foot increments until we get to the surface. This improves critical soil stability behind the seawall, while permeating through all the cracks and crevices sealing them to prevent soil loss, which causes voids and depressions behind the seawall and soil instability. Soil stability behind the seawall protects critical elements of the wall, like the deadman which anchor the seawall cap, and provides structural rigidity. Stable soil behind your seawall is very important to ensuring you get the maximum life expectancy out of your seawall. Once the soil becomes unstable, the wall can shift or move, causing unwanted structural damage and cracking to the seawall, which then can lead to Spalling. Spalling is caused when the structural steel inside the wall become exposed to the elements through cracks in the wall. When seawalls fail, it’s usually due to the Domino Effect. The first Domino typically to fall is Soil Stability, then seawall movement or shifting, leading to cracking, which causes spalling and then the wall becomes so structurally damaged that seawall replacement is the only option. If you stop soil instability early on and have a proper pressure relief valve system (we recommend Jet Filters) then you have the best chance of getting the maximum life expectancy out of your seawall.

  • @Jake-tt6mk
    @Jake-tt6mk 8 месяцев назад

    This looks... has to be expensive?

    • @JaySilverHeliconUSA
      @JaySilverHeliconUSA 8 месяцев назад

      It’s typically 80% to 100% less than Seawall replacement. Doing nothing to address soil instability can lead to complete Seawall failure.
